Baraka Bible School 2026

By Brother Chris and Sister Martha Sales, Grand River Ecclesia, ON

What a wonderful week of fellowship, learning, and encouragement we shared together at Baraka Bible School! With over 100 children, teens, and adults in attendance, we were blessed to welcome brothers, sisters, and friends from Newfoundland, Rochester, Baltimore, Kansas City, Windsor, London, Montreal, Quebec City, Paris, and Cambridge.

The adult classes, taught in Swahili, were lively and engaging, with thoughtful discussion around key first-principle Bible teachings – with s focus on the book of Ephesians. The teen classes were in English, exploring God’s amazing promises and practical lessons from Ephesians, while the children learned about God’s promises in Eden, to Abraham, and to David, building a strong foundation in the Truth.

Our evenings were filled with praise, worship, and fellowship, with many using their God-given talents to bring glory to our Heavenly Father and His Son. A highlight was the children’s and young people’s dramas on “The Promises to Abraham” and “The Last Supper.” We also enjoyed the energetic Crazy Olympics and concluded with a moving Kingdom Vision evening that lifted our thoughts to the glorious day when God will intervene in this troubled world and send His Son, Jesus Christ, to establish His Kingdom.

There was no shortage of fellowship outside the classroom. Afternoon sports (with lots of football), crafts, and activities brought everyone together, while delicious snacks, western-style lunches, and wonderful African-style dinners kept us well fed throughout the week.

We are deeply thankful to everyone who served so willingly: our teachers, Bro. Benoit and Bro. Innocent for the Swahili classes, the Truth Corps team for leading the children’s program, the Dunhams, Carricks, committee members, volunteers, cooks, and all who quietly worked behind the scenes to make the week such a success. Our nurses Linda and Siyana, who thankfully weren’t too busy. Our ‘shuttle drivers’ Andrew, Kevin and Laura who were kept busy as activities moved between the College and the Hall. We are also grateful to the London ecclesia for generously providing the use of their hall and grounds.

Perhaps the greatest blessing of all was the fellowship we shared. Old friendships were renewed, new friendships were formed, meaningful Bible discussions flourished, and many lasting memories were made. We pray these relationships will continue to strengthen and encourage one another as we wait together for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Baraka” means “blessings” in Swahili, and that truly captures the spirit of the week. We all left feeling richly blessed by our Heavenly Father, thankful for His care, His Word, and the wonderful family He has given us in Christ.

On behalf of the Baraka Bible School Committee, thank you especially to the CBMA/C for their support, encouragement and generosity.
