An Ending and a Beginning in Barbados
Our dear sister Murl Marshall, a long-time member of the Bank Hall ecclesia in Barbados, fell asleep in the Lord on January 28, 2026. Sister Murl was in her 90th year at her death (October 4, 1936 – January 28, 2026). She spent several years in the UK, where she was a well-respected Sunday school teacher, before returning to Barbados. All those who met Sister Murl went away impressed with her knowledge of the scriptures and, most of all, her love for her God.
Brother David Corbin from NY, who affectionately called sister Murl his Aunt, performed the service. He reminded us that we are to number our days, and that death is a reminder of where we will all end up, and so we need to prepare now for our Master’s return. This event was sister Murl’s firm hope. Our sister now rests in the hope of the resurrection.

One month to the day of Sis Murl’s falling asleep in Christ, the Barbados Bank Hall ecclesia rejoiced to witness a new “born life” with the baptism of Dru Downes. Brother Dru after a good confession of his faith was baptized in Brandons Beach on February 28, 2026 by Brethren Rudolph Bailey and Clive Walton. Brother Dru was introduced to the Christadelphian’s by Sister Chiara Hunte and went through first principle classes with Bro Anthony and Sister Dawn Hunte.

We thank our Loving God that His Gospel message is still calling out a people for his name. We pray our new brother and all the brothers and sisters in Barbados will mutually benefit from their fellowship together as they await our Lord’s return.
