An interesting Biblical fact to think about is that was only a little over 1,600 years that had passed from the time of Adam to the onset of the flood at the time of Noah. A flood that erased all of mankind except for the eight people who served GOD above all else. 1,600 years was all it took for mankind to degenerate into a state so evil that the only way for GOD to save HIS creation was to destroy all those who had turned to a self-centered way of life.

Another interesting Biblical fact about that time was that GOD had provided a way for them to hear about HIM and to turn to salvation. That way was through the preaching of Noah. For 120 years while he was building the ark, at first by himself and then later with his sons as they grew, a preaching effort was going on. People would ask what he was doing day by day, and he would proclaim the word of GOD to them in his words and also in his actions. He didn’t give up when they would not listen, but continued to labor for his Heavenly Father until the day the flood waters came and took them all away.

As we look around today, we can’t help but see that the world is in a similar state. Jesus’s words ring out to us, “and as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” We, like Noah before us, should not be discouraged in proclaiming GOD’s message to the world around us, even though we think they may not choose to listen. What opportunities has GOD given us to reach out and proclaim HIS Truth to the floundering world we see today?

 

History of Truth Corps

Enter Truth Corps, a program that was begun by the CBMA over 50 years ago! The first mission was to Panama, but it grew over the years into a program that sent our teams of young Brothers and Sisters to ecclesias in North America, the Caribbean and Central America. Out of this program the Spanish Truth Corps program was developed that sent teams to Central and South America. As the years have passed, many challenges have been faced, and as a result, Spanish Truth Corps missions were put on hold, but the domestic Truth Corps program has struggled forward.

 

Presently, Truth Corps has been beset with increasing challenges. The interest of young Brothers and Sisters has seemed to have fallen so much so that missions, for some years, were canceled for lack of participants. Additionally, it seems the interest of ecclesias in hosting Truth Corps Teams for projects in their locations has fallen recently.

In 2025, the CBMA/C began seeking a new approach to the Truth Corps program, and the Truth Corps Working Group was formed. We are now a team of six members from across Canada and the US that has been formed to update and administer the program. This has proven to be a challenging project, but one that is now taking shape. We are in the process of updating the Truth Corps Manual to better assist team members, team leaders and host ecclesias in their respect roles in the program. The work of formulating the prospective team, team recruitment, host ecclesia recruitment, travel logistics, team leader recruitment and many other areas will now be divided up among the members of the Working Group to build the program back up. Prior to this, the work of the program rested on the shoulders of only one or two individuals, which in many cases proved to be somewhat overwhelming. So, what can the Truth Corps do for you?

 

What Can Truth Corps Do for You?

As a young, baptized Brother or Sister, an opportunity for you to grow your lives in GOD’s service is given. You will be given tools that will enable you to utilize the amazing amount of Biblical knowledge you already possess in reaching out to a world where many have never heard about GOD’s Kingdom and the way to true salvation. The program will not only help enable you in outreach preaching efforts, but also with interactions with other Brother’s and Sister’s. This refers not only to the team itself, but your interpersonal relationships with others in the Truth, as well as your own ecclesias. You will be able to hone skills to become even more active and productive in ecclesial life and the Christadelphian community worldwide.

As a Host ecclesia, you have the opportunity to become an even brighter lightstand in your own localities. Moreso, you will be able to demonstrate to the team members a different path to solving various issues that arise in ecclesial activities that they might not have been exposed to before. You will provide them an opportunity to interact with Brothers and Sisters they probably have never met. You will find the team can be used not only for preaching efforts, but for other ecclesial activities such as: visiting ecclesial members who are sick, teaching a Bible class to a CYC or Sunday School, helping with a vacation Bible School or an ecclesial open house, and many other needful ecclesial projects.

 

Plans for Truth Corps 2026

Though we usually field a team of six young Brothers and Sisters and their team leaders, this year we have a team of only three young people who will be led by Brother Chris and Sister Martha Sales from the Collingwood, Ontario Ecclesia. The team members are: Sister Serenity Abel from the Grand River, Ontario ecclesia; Brother James Bates from the Stark County, Ohio ecclesia and Brother Andrew Reynolds from the Enfield, Australia ecclesia. Their mission will take them to: Grand River/Brantford, Ontario; London, Ontario; the new Baraka Bible School in London, Ontario and the Midwest Bible School at Trine University in Ohio. They will be involved in canvasing efforts, leading classes for children and young teens and promoting the program wherever they go.

You can become, perhaps, the spark in someone’s life that will lead them to the way of true salvation!

We are also reaching out to all ecclesias in North America to make the commitment to become a host ecclesia in the future – to help not only the demonstration of the Truth in your towns, but to help shape the lives of young people who have dedicated their time and lives to GOD’s service.
